Swollen? What NOT to take when singing…
This has come up several times during lessons recently – so I wanted to write a quick PSA. Avoid taking ibuprofen (Advil) when performing because it can thin the blood, increasing the risk of a vocal fold hemorrhage. If you are swollen, stick to Acetaminophen (Tylenol) instead, or take a few days away from singing.

Happy singing and be mindful during this cold and flu season!
