Frustrated? Try this.
As your technique advances, so can the repertoire you are working on. This may lead to minor bumps in the road as you navigate longer and more challenging passages.
Don’t get discouraged! Slow everything down to a tempo where you can confidently sing the phrase correctly musically (rhythms and notes). As you start to speed it up, chunk it even more, work on a measure at a time and slowly grow from there. If you find yourself getting worked up or frustrated – step away and come back to it later. Grab a song you love to sing and sing through it, reminding yourself of how amazing your voice is. This is also a reminder that the song you love to sing was once hard as well – your new piece will get better in time.
Keep up the hard work!
